GamingVisionJournal
Atmospheric game scene lit in synthetic colour
Fitzroy · Melbourne

The gaming journal for players who read the patch notes.

Deep-dive reviews, frame-data breakdowns, and curated playthrough journals — written from a Smith Street desk, played on real hardware.

Founder note

Why I started this journal

I spent nine years reviewing games for other people’s outlets, filing 700-word verdicts that never had room for the details I actually cared about — the netcode, the difficulty curve, the way a soundtrack lands at 2am.

GamingVisionJournal.blog is the outlet I always wanted: long-form, opinionated, and honest about scope. Every review is played to completion on the platform it ships on, timed, and logged. No pre-release scores, no publisher junkets.

We’re a small crew working out of a shared studio on Smith Street in Fitzroy. If a game respects your time, we’ll tell you. If it wastes it, we’ll tell you that too.

What the community says

Notes from subscribers and studios who follow the journal.

The completion times alone saved me buying two games I’d never have finished. This is the only review site I trust before a launch.

Their patch breakdown explained a balance change better than the developer’s own notes. I share these with my whole guild.

As a small studio, the performance deep-dive they ran on our port was fair, specific, and genuinely helped us prioritise fixes.

The playthrough journals feel like gaming with a mate who takes great notes. I read the whole archive on a flight to Perth.
